‘Priorities are in order’: Feds investigating danger posed by ‘hoverboards’

We know that government officials aren’t busy reviewing social media posts of visa applicants, so maybe the feds can focus more resources on getting to the bottom of this threat:

Really? Yes really:

The federal government has launched an investigation into one of the years hottest holiday toys after receiving multiple reports of it catching fire and causing injury.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to beware of hoverboards. The agency said its received 10 reports of hoverboards catching fire from consumers in nine states and 29 reports of people having been treated at an emergency room after falling off the self-balancing, two-wheel, motorized board.

The CPSC said there have been 29 emergency room visits due to injuries related to toy. Plus, the feds might be concerned that the hoverboard fires could contribute to climate change.

It’s not like there’s anything else to worry about.
