Not much happens in this 13-second trailer teaser for Paranormal Activity 4, but there’s enough creepiness to get fans excited.
The grainy home surveillance footage should be familiar to those who saw the first three installments of the thriller series. The fourth is set to premiere on Oct. 19. Those looking for details of the plot, however, will be disappointed. With an eye toward ensuring a big opening weekend, Paramount Pictures is keeping a tight lid on such information. Perhaps more questions will be answered when the full trailer is released on Aug. 1.
Thirteen seconds seems rather miserly. However, Paramount seems to be following a marketing playbook created by — of all people — Britney Spears, who promoted her “Hold It Against Me” video in 2011 with a super-short (5-second) teaser.
